Our Beliefs

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

What We Believe

At FBC Rowlett, we are committed to a deep and unwavering faith in the truth of God’s Word. Our beliefs are foundational to who we are, guiding how we live, worship, and serve.

Our Mission

We believe that our mission is to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ. We are committed to living out the Great Commission through evangelism, discipleship, and service in our local community and around the world.

GOD

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal, possessing all the attributes of God.

God the Father

We believe that God the Father is the creator and sustainer of all things. He is holy, loving, just, and righteous. Through His sovereign will, He works to fulfill His redemptive plan.

God the Son

We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, and rose bodily from the dead. He is now seated at the right hand of God the Father, and He will return to judge the living and the dead.

God the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates, sanctifies, and empowers all who believe in Jesus Christ, enabling them to live godly lives.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is a gift from God, not by works, so that no one can boast. Through repentance and faith, believers are justified before God and receive eternal life.

The Church

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all true believers. We are called to gather for worship, grow in discipleship, and go forth in mission, proclaiming the Gospel to the world.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

We believe that baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances instituted by Christ. Baptism is a public declaration of faith and a symbol of the believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Christ’s sacrifice and a proclamation of His return.

The Kingdom of God

We believe in the Kingdom of God as both a present reality and a future hope. We are called to live as ambassadors of this Kingdom, reflecting God’s reign in our lives, families, and communities.

Jesus’s Return

We believe in the personal, visible return of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of the dead. Believers will enjoy eternal life with God, and unbelievers will face eternal separation from Him. Christ’s return will establish the new heavens and new earth, where righteousness dwells.

The Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error in its original manuscripts, and the ultimate authority in all matters of faith and life. It reveals God’s character, humanity’s purpose, and the path to salvation.
